Company Timeline
1960s
Formation: Company was founded, starting with three aerosol products. Tox Fly Spray, Air Freshener and Newport - an innovative and unique butane refill product that could fill every lighter in the world using eight specially formed adaptors.
1970s
Global Expansion: The company grew and expanded its export sales globally.
Innovation: Developed and patented the unique Newport cap, making it instantly recognisable.
Consumer-Friendly: Introduced a colour-coded adaptor list, popular with consumers.
1980s
Product Range: Extended the Newport range to include other accessories.
Exhibitions: First exhibited at the Spring Fair, leading to household range sales throughout the UK.
Aquanol: Our professional maintenance spray was launched, quickly becoming a favourite among consumers.
1990s
Quality: Newport led the quality argument with the introduction of Turbo lighters.
Environmental Initiatives: Introduced the Near Zero Impurities logo and began using recycled steel for cans.
2000s
International Presence: Keen’s brands became available in more countries as export sales developed further.
2010s
Recognition: Following the quality argument, Newport sales developed in the USA, becoming a market leader.
Rebranding: Household range rebranded to "Hints."
2020s
Sustainability: Introduced a new single mould Newport cap, reducing plastic waste.
Market Expansion: Keen Newport Group introduced Lagom to the UK market.
